Who are NCARB?The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) protects the public's health, safety and welfare by leading the regulation of the practice of architecture through the development and application of standards for licensure and credentialing of architects. Representing the architectural registration boards of 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia and 3 U.S. territories, NCARB’s primary function is to design tools and model procedures for jurisdictions to apply to their regulation of the path to licensure, ranging from internship guidelines to licensing examination to certification for reciprocal licensing. NCARB maintains records for its 54 jurisdictional boards, providing services to architects and interns as key stakeholders.
ChallengeAfter a lengthy rebranding process, NCARB needed to extend its vision across its digital properties through responsive web development and optimization. When its previous agency couldn’t provide the technical and creative know-how to deliver, agencyQ stepped in – not only to realize what was started – but to extend the brand across new digital channels.

- Providing advisory services during the CMS selection process – helping to scope, budget and implement the Sitecore solution to support NCARB’s asset management and workflows across its digital ecosystem.
- Implementing responsive web development and design for NCARB.org, offering users a seamless user experience regardless of the device used to access the site.
- Designing and building a responsive blogging platform that serves as a “social hub,” enabling NCARB to have ongoing, two-way conversations with prospective and licensed architects.
OutcomeagencyQ implemented a new user-centric site architecture for NCARB’s certification tracking system, giving architectural candidates access to the information they need as efficiently and effectively as possible. The new visual system was also extended to the platform for a unified brand experience.
