agencyQ will be presenting a Deep Dive on “Translating Innovation into Action: Creating Design Sprints for your Association” at the 2019 ASAE Annual Meeting and Exposition in Columbus, OH this August. VP of Strategic Design Paige Connor and President Bob Poulin will lead an interactive workshop on how design sprints enable associations to harness the collaborative brainstorming power of design thinking and turn their obstacles into opportunities.
As a digital transformation and technology firm, agencyQ recognizes the transformative value of design sprints. By reframing problems as opportunities and aligning stakeholders in novel ways, design sprints break organizations out of their stale patterns and redefine an organization’s understanding of their audience’s needs to solve complex organizational challenges.
Attendees will learn to employ the 5-Day Methodology of design sprints to accelerate the project ideation and development stages and streamline prototyping and testing to uncover effective solutions more efficiently. Our workshop will detail the steps and techniques to coordinating a successful design sprint, including:
- Mapping the challenges
- Reframing problems as opportunities
- Establishing narrowly-focused concepts
- Rapid prototype development
- Idea testing and feedback
Paige and Bob will discuss common association problems, the challenges that can be best resolved through design sprints and how to elicit unconventional creativity from participants. All attendees will participate in an interactive mock sprint from preparation through days one and two of the methodology, and the final steps will be reviewed to give participants a strategic framework to apply design sprints in their organizations.
