Claudeforce Just Made Your Salesforce Data More Valuable

Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce (opens in a new tab) on August 26. It builds Claude into Agentforce and Slack, and it puts Salesforce inside Claude through a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills. Our view is that the biggest winner is the data you already have in Salesforce. It just got easier to access, more powerful, and more valuable.

We've had Claude connected to our own Salesforce org for months. Getting there took a custom connector and a fair amount of work on authentication and permissions, which is more setup than most teams have time for. Claudeforce takes most of that work away. An admin connects Salesforce to Claude once, and everyone gets access with the permissions they already have. Nobody on the team has to know what an MCP server (opens in a new tab) is. As of Dreamforce, any customer can sign up for the Salesforce in Claude beta.

Most Salesforce orgs hold years of calls, renewals, donations, and case notes that mostly go unread. They show up in the occasional report, but nobody has time to read ten years of history before a meeting. Claude does. It can read an account's whole history at once, answer the question you actually have, and act on the answer by updating a record or kicking off a workflow. Every request runs as the person asking, and updates still go through the same validation rules and Flows as any other change.

That's what makes the data more valuable. Information that used to wait for someone to build a report now gets used every time someone asks a question.

This isn't only for sales teams. The 37 prebuilt skills are written for sellers, but Claude can work with any record a user has access to, including the member, donor, and case data many of our clients run on. Prepping for a meeting with a major donor looks a lot like prepping for a sales call. Salesforce says skills for service, marketing, and commerce start arriving late this year.

The platform gets more valuable too. Salesforce's Patrick Stokes said (opens in a new tab) "the value of Salesforce has never been in the UI. It's been in the platform that stores the way our customers encode their business." We agree. The easier that platform is to reach, from Claude or Slack or wherever people already work, the more every clean record and well-built Flow pays off.

Data quality (opens in a new tab) still matters. Claude reads what's actually in your org, so clean data gets you sharp answers and messy data gets you confident wrong ones. But if you've been on Salesforce for years, the most valuable thing you can bring to AI is already there. You've been building it one logged call at a time.
